HANDY D
Reliable, local quality
Pretty much all handyman jobs – everything from putting up pictures and curtains, to plumbing and assembling flatpacks. Please see the list of handyman jobs on this website – but it is not exhaustive – if you can’t see what you need on the list, please ask.
No, I do not charge a fee to attend people’s houses.
I generally charge by the hour. But if you would prefer a fixed price for a job, just let me know. See pricing section of my website for more details.
No, estimates are free.
All new work is guaranteed for 12 months. In the unlikely event that you were not happy with the work I would remedy the problem immediately. Customer satisfaction is absolutely key. As a local business I depend on reputation and word of mouth.
I will do the work myself: I have spent more than twenty years in house maintenance and have expertise across a wide range of trades.
Not usually, as I have family commitments. However, if a job urgently needs finishing, I’ll carry on until it can be left for the next day in a safe, reasonable, tidy and convenient condition. I do work some weekends if there is no other suitable opportunity to get a job done, but there is an extra charge for this.
My handyman business is focused on Leighton Buzzard but I do venture into some of the bordering villages.
Bank transfer is preferable but, if you prefer, you can pay by cheque or cash.
Yes. Handy D has full public liability insurance. Documents can be seen on request.
I can give a fixed time for the first appointment of the day but, for subsequent jobs, I try to be as accurate as I can to give a time when I will be with you. If a job before yours overruns significantly, I will let you know. You are not expected to wait in all day!
I can’t take away rubbish as the council charges tradespeople more than private individuals. If rubbish won’t fit in your wheelie bin, other arrangements (such as a Hippo Bag or skip) can be made.
